OFFICIAL RULES Foxwoods Good News Nominations 


1. HOW TO ENTER

a. The Foxwoods Good News Nomination Contest will begin Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10:00AM and end on Sunday, August 1, 2014 at 9:00AM.

b. To participate in the contest, you may enter via the following method: Go to http://www.facebook.com/WTNH8 to visit the WTNH Facebook page and click on the top Facebook bar on the timeline. Complete entry form, and “like” any required Facebook pages. Existing WTNH8 Facebook followers can simply click on the contest link. Follow the instructions to complete your registration and entry. 

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook.  Entrants are providing information to the stations.

c. One entry per person. All participants fully release Facebook from any liability.  

d. The nomination process is as follows: 

Individuals who are being nominated (nominees) must be 21 years of age or older and legally reside in Connecticut.  Employees of WTNH-TV (the “Station”), its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other television stations in the Hartford/New Haven metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to be nominated.  Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

The nominee must have exemplified helping within a community either via a good deed, volunteer work or helping another.  Submitted nominations must be approximately (1) paragraph in length and must clearly communicate the nominee’s ‘good news’ act.

2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS

a. For nominating parties the contest is open to all WTNH-TV viewers who are 18 years of age or older and who legally reside in Connecticut.  Employees of WTNH-TV (the “Station”), its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other television stations in the Hartford/New Haven metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.  Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

b. Only one winner per household is permitted in any Station contest in a calendar year.

3. PRIZES

a. One (1) grand prize winner will receive the following:

1. One (1) overnight stay at the Fox Tower at Foxwoods Resort Casino (available Sundays through Thursdays) during the month of September based on availability

2. One (1) gift card worth $250 (two hundred and fifty dollars) in dining credit. Total approximate retail value of grand prize is $500 (five-hundred). Please note that gratuity is not included.


b. All prizes can be claimed at WTNH 8 Elm St., New Haven, and CT 06510 during business hours.  The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within forty-five (45) days of winning.  In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss.  The Station is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate. Winners may be required to sign paperwork authorizing the station and sponsor(s) to use their image and/or likeness in order to receive the prize.

c. There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that the Station may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash.  The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses.  Other restrictions may apply. 


4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

a. The individual who submits a nomination on behalf of a nominee is not eligible to win.
 
b. The nominee must acknowledge and sign forms before eligible to win the contest.

c. The selection of a winner from the nominated entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges from WTNH.  The judges will select the contest winner based on pre-set criteria.

d. The criteria for selection are:

1. The nominee must have exemplified helping within a community either via a good deed, volunteer work or helping another.

2. Submitted nomination must be approximately (1) paragraph in length and must clearly communicate the nominee’s ‘good news’ act.

e. Winners must execute and return any required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within 48 hours of notification attempt or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be chosen by the sponsor. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within the required time period, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits prize.  

f. Decisions of the Station management with respect to the contest are final.

g. Grand Prize winner will be selected from all eligible entries on September 1, 2014 at approx. 10AM. 

h. Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received, as applicable.

i. Winner will be notified via phone by approx. 3PM on September 1, 2014. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits prize.

5. CONDITIONS

a. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.

b. By participating in the contest, the winner or winners and nominees agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.
  
c. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, the Station in its sole discretion may require contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold the Station, its corporate licensee, it's parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.

d. The Station reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.

e. Failure to comply with the contest rules or the Station’s website Terms of Service may result in an entrant’s disqualification solely at the discretion of the Station.

f. The Station is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a prize.

g. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of winners (when complete) are available during regular business hours at the main studio of WTNH-TV, 8 Elm Street, New Haven, CT 06510.
